Ceramica Artistica Prospettiva Residency 2014
Residency in Trieste, Italy Summer 2014
In July of 2014, I organized and procured funding for an artists' residency at Ceramica Artistica Prospettiva, a ceramic arts center in Trieste, Italy. Four KCAD alumni joined me for three weeks in Trieste where we shared an apartment, built a wood-fired pizza oven, and fired the wood-kiln that I built during a previous 4 week visit with friend and mentor Bill Farrell. The residency supplemented the programing of the center. Excursions to Venice and Croatia supplemented the experience.
This video produced by KCAD provides a good summary of the goals of the residency and the experiences of the participants. This trip fully funded by a private grant from an area manufacturing company.
